Pledge - April 2022

Another month, another event!

April is a much smaller pledge, certainly for Der H! Both Butterflies are making the trip to Cardiff for the Return to Isstvan charity event, and as usual, Der H isn’t ready!

“ALL THE THINGS!”

1) A whole solar list, basically

Being organised (Der H: “Hahahaha”), my World Eaters for the next event are complete and ready to go. Thus, I'm already focusing on the next 2, and a brand new 2000 and 3000 point Solar Auxilia force. Therefore my somewhat nebulous pledge will be as much as I can get done this month (and the next!) Essentially I'm looking at 76 infantry, 3 tanks and a flyer. So no pressure then…

Der H

“Not much this month!”

1) Solomon Demeter

The Return to Isstvan event includes custom unique characters, all essentally a similar stat line with a few custom weapons/skills/warlord traits. Being loyalist (Brother Handro: For once!”) meant another HQ for me to build. A busy day of conversion and kitbashing game me this model, with head and left arm options, to use as Solomon.

Deliberate changing of the left arm and pad armour marks represents his depiction in Fulgrim, with armour salvaged from fallen brothers.

2) Seekers/Vets

The rest of my pledge for the Emperors Children is an 8 man squad of combi weapons Seekers/Veterans. This list is going to be Maru Skara based, with Solomon leading tacticals, a champion leading assault marines, and seekers/jetbikes forming the hidden blade.

3) Drop Pod Terrain

Way way back, when the Isstvan Charity event was being set up, we all pondered bringing some custom terrain. This seems to have fallen by the wayside given the passage of time and people other commitments, but I’ll be damned If I didn’t buy more things to build and paint for an event less than 30 days away!

In Book 1:Betrayal there is a lovely section of battlefield terrain rules including my new personal favourite, the Drop Pod Carcass:

The best news is I only have 5 to do! Thankfully Troll Trader have some cheap pre-built ones that will be perfect for damaged and burnt out pods on the blasted remains of Isstvan III!

4) Bonus Points!

As mentioned here in February, Im trying to get through more and more of my non-GW backlog - this month a Unithorn, and some other wild elf critters, are up! The other critters are done, as test models for the UV paint, but they certainly need basing!
